How - and when - do you know when you have succeeded or failed? Do you know immediately or does it set in over time? Let’s read a couple examples from the scripture and learn how to reframe or present reality in the light of time, distance and God’s word. It’s a great lesson from some of the heroes of faith.

The Homework Challenge!

1) IMMEDIATE REDEMPTION: Peter’s redemption occurred 53 days after failing Jesus. 53 days from now will be August 16. I would like to encourage everyone to think of a place in life or maybe a person you may have failed. Between now and Aug 16, work on your redemption. What was your lesson learned?
2) FORMATIVE REDEMPTION: Joseph had a dream of leadership. It was forgotten for 13 years while God worked. I would encourage everyone to think about something they would like to accomplish 13 years from now or reflect on something that has happened in the past 13 years where you've identified a failure in your life. Find God’s presence in those life moments.
3) APPARENT FAILURE: Moses’ life cycle was in 40-year intervals of short, intermittent failures, development and dependency on God, and eventual successes. But he never reached the promised land. Hebrews told us of all the heroes of faith that never saw the promised salvation because God has something better in mind for all of us. Think about your biggest goal. Would you be ok if it doesn’t happen in this life? Remember that God rewards the process. Think about how your process could yield something far greater than your goal.
Remember. Get out of your comfort zone. God is trying to grow us.
